The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine yields 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm with 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm and a maximum towing capacity of 21,870 pounds.

Exterior

Exterior features on the Sierra 2500HD that enhance your productivity and make every project easier include cab-mounted cargo area lamps, twelve cargo tie-downs, and a CornerStep rear bumper. The PRO base trim comes with 17-inch all-season blackwall tires with steel-painted silver wheels, black door handles, and chrome bumpers. All Sierra 2500HD trims come with a complete trailering package that includes a hitch, hitch platform, receiver hitch, connectors, and an electrical harness.

Interior

The Sierra 2500HD has seating for up to six passengers with plenty of head and leg room. The Sierra’s front bench is a three-way split (40/20/40), while the back seat is a two-way split (60/40). These benches are made to optimize cargo space, with an under-seat storage compartment beneath the front bench and foldable seat bottoms on the rear bench that give way to cargo room on the floor.

Standard interior features in the Sierra 2500 include assist handles at each door, cruise control, and a manual tilt steering column. Cabin features on higher trims include a 12.3-inch driver information center, a 120-volt box-mounted power outlet, and a 10-way power driver seat.

Connectivity

Inside the 2025 Sierra 2500, there’s a 7-inch GMC infotainment system that includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth audio streaming. On the SLE and all higher trims, the infotainment system measures 13.4 inches and comes with Google built-in for access to Google Maps, Assistant, and Gmail.

With the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you can sync your phone to the truck and access your phone’s information through your truck’s touchscreen. This includes your text messages, contacts, and certain apps. You can also make hands-free phone calls while driving with the help of voice commands.

Safety

The Sierra 2500 comes with GMC’s exclusive safety package, Sierra HD Pro Safety. The Sierra HD Pro Safety package is a collision-avoidance system that contains Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and more. Another high-tech safety package in the Sierra 2500 is OnStar Basics, which contains Automatic Crash Response, remote commands, built-in voice assistance, and live traffic with navigation.
