Just next door to Aunt Emmy’s is April’s Downtown Diner–another fantastic local spot for coffee-lovers. April’s is what we consider a proper small town diner, and what proper small town diner doesn’t serve great coffee? This is the kind of place where you’ll see regulars enjoying “the usual” at any time of day, and it’s the steaming mugs of the brown stuff, always served with a smile, that keep them coming back.

For a friendly, folksy atmosphere with good food at reasonable prices, you really can’t beat April’s Downtown Diner. Pop in for breakfast served from 5 a.m. for early birds–and say hi from us!

3. The Bread Basket

Established in 2013 by Iowa farm girl Jackie, The Bread Basket is a cozy little cafe with a well-deserved Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, where it consistently earns top-notch reviews from satisfied customers. The freshly-brewed coffees here are so popular that they’ve even started their own private label, so you can enjoy the great taste of Jackie’s coffee at home as well.

The State of Iowa’s official tourism website, TravelIowa.com, reckons The Bread Basket is the very best eatery in all of Delaware County–and we heartily agree! Be sure to try Jackie’s signature white chocolate banana cream pie when you pop in for a brew. You definitely won’t regret it!
