Engine
The 2023 Sierra 1500 offers a choice of four different engines. The base setup is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic transmission to produce 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Next are two V-8 options, the 5.3-liter that's good for 355 horsepower and the 6.2-liter with 420 horsepower. Finally, the 3.0-liter six-cylinder generates 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The last three engine options hook up seamlessly to a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.

GMC boosts the 2023 Sierra 1500's off-road prowess with a sporty new model: the AT4X AEV Edition.
